What is Acupressure?
Rooted in the same principles as acupuncture, acupressure is an alternative medicine technique based on the idea that life energy (“Qi”) flows through meridians (channels) in the body.
Physical pressure is applied to acupuncture points on the surface of the skin to stimulate the body’s natural healing abilities and to release any blockages in these meridians, encouraging the free flow of “Qi.”
Acupuncture and acupressure use the same points on the body. The difference is that acupuncturists use needles, while acupressure practitioners apply gentle yet firm pressure with an acupressure tool to the same points.
Focusing on specific acupuncture points will improve skin condition and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. As a result, the skin will look and feel plumper, healthier, and more radiant.
